With immediate effect, Lodent Precison Ltd has been appointed the Sales agent for Minster Presses for the United Kingdom and Ireland.


Why ‘The Minster Machine Company’? Founded in 1896 after the partnership of Dues and Herenhoff was dissolved and named after the town where it all began, Minster Ohio. Over the last 116 years Minster has been manufacturing Presses! More than 31,000 have been supplied worldwide, with over 3000 installations in Europe. Minster’s operation in Europe consists of both direct and sales agents. Customer service is centred in Halblech, Germany. The Halblech service centre stocks and distributes all spare parts and offers customers across Europe Technical support, provided by factory trained engineers. Service engineers are based in Halblech, however, to allow faster responses to be delivered to key markets and customers, engineers are also based in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, London and Milan.


After initially manufacturing equipment for use in the Oil industry. 1926, Minster built its first mechanical power press – a 45 ton – open back inclinable. By 1930 the Company was offering a complete line of power presses in a variety of sizes and capacities. Minster weathered the Great Depression with a decade of innovations and a solid commitment to quality. In the 1930s Minster was the first press company to use a separate friction clutch and brake on the same shaft; built the world’s first transfer press; offered the first box crown and press construction; and began use of the patented Air Operated Friction Clutch and Brake Unit. By the end of the decade Minster was building presses for arsenals, aircraft companies and shipyards as the United States’ effort to become the “arsenal for democracy” transformed the country into an industrial giant.


Minster expanded its facilities in the 1950s, and it continued to stay one step ahead in productivity and technology with the introduction of its progressive die P2 Piece-Maker press. There were more innovations to come, including the quick die change Die-Namic Process in 1965 and the world’s first totally automated “Stamping Center” in 1970.
In 1973, Minster opened the world’s most modern metal casting facility. The 75,000 square foot facility, built just north of Minster’s main plant, was constructed with state of the art air cleaning and manufacturing systems.


Minster also introduced its ultra high speed Pulsar press line in 1980, with speeds of up to 2,000 strokes per minute.Today, Minster has solidified its reputation as a world leader in the material forming industry with the constant evolution of products and services that remain on the cutting edge of technology. Minster’s products include mechanical presses ranging from 16 ton open back stationaries to progressive die straight sides up to 1600 tons. . Add to these Minster electric feeds, reels, straighteners, die carts, parts handling equipment and integrated press controls and it’s easy to see why Minster is the ideal “one-source supplier for material forming equipment and systems.


In April of 2012, The Minster Machine Company was purchased by the Nidec-Shimpo Corporation, which is part of the global network of the Nidec Corporation, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. Nidec Minster Corporation is also the exclusive sales and service agent for Kyori presses and feeds in North America, South America, and Europe. Nidec Minster offer Kyori precision, high speed presses from 15 to 300 tons, operating at up to 2400 strokes per minute.
